The 2021 GOP Fall Festival held on September 12 at Frasca Field in Urbana was a big hit for local Republicans.
The event’s theme “Always Honor. Never Forget” was a nod to first responders on the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Vehicles from the Urbana Police, Fire Department and Carle Ambulance as well as an AirLife helicopter were on display. A K-9 demonstration was a popular attraction.
Over 250 GOP supporters of all ages enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch provided by Hickory River, listened to live music and engaging speakers and enjoyed spending time with like-minded friends and neighbors. It was a warm day and Kona Ice was on hand to provide cool treats.
Over $400 was raised for the Carle Auxiliary from the Coach Purse raffle. We also raised $500 for Peacemaker Project 703, honoring officer Christopher Oberheim.
Our keynote speaker, Ty Smith, was a huge hit with the audience and the afternoon ended on an enthusiastic note.
Thank you to all the attendees, sponsors and speakers. The future of the GOP is bright!
