The Champaign County Republican Party is working hard to build a Republican turnout machine, foster a vibrant community of conservatives, and ensure voters in Champaign County know where our party stands on the issues that matter. WE NEED YOUR HELP!
The four committees and the corresponding roles that are necessary to achieve these objectives are listed below.

Fundraising Committee
To ensure sufficient financial backing for the organization's operations, it is necessary to establish a strong fundraising mechanism that encompasses hosting fundraising events, fostering donor relationships, and establishing and expanding a membership program.
Fundraising Committee Roles
Committee Chair - Responsibilities include attending a weekly meeting with the Chairman, the Surus Illinois Account Manager, and other committee chairs. Additionally, you will facilitate monthly Fundraising Committee meetings, prepare the agenda and run meetings, while you serve as the key point of contact for the other committees. It will also be your responsibility to ensure that the Committee's actions align with the organization's mission and strategic plan, as well as report highlights and key decisions from Committee meetings to the Chairman, Executive Committee, and Surus Account Manager. To ensure the Committee's effectiveness, you will evaluate its efforts monthly and annually, to ensure that its activities are consistent with the organization's mission, vision, and values, and that they help meet the organization's long and short-term goals.
Major Donor Coordinator - Responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major donors to secure significant financial contributions for the organization. Ensures that 75% of the organization’s annual budget is covered through major donor solicitation.
Fundraising Events Coordinator - Responsible for planning, organizing, and executing events to raise funds for the organization. Ensures that the organization hosts at least one fundraising event each quarter.
Sponsorship Coordinator - Responsible for identifying, soliciting, and stewarding corporate and individual sponsors to support an organization's events, programs, and initiatives. Ensures that the organization solicits one local business sponsor to make a gift in return for digital real estate or special mentions at organization wide meetings.
Membership Coordinator - Manages the recruitment, retention, engagement, and stewardship of members in the organization. Ensures that the organization meets its membership goal for the month through making contact with potential members and facilitating member appreciation events and curating the organization’s membership program to continually offer value.
Communications Committee
To effectively communicate important information to members, supporters, and the wider community, it is necessary to establish a strong communications program comprising regular newsletters, political and policy statements, and engaging social media content.
Communications Committee Roles
Committee Chair - Responsibilities include attending a weekly meeting with the Chairman, the Surus Illinois Account Manager, and other committee chairs. Additionally, you will facilitate monthly Communications Committee meetings, preparing the agenda and running the meeting, while serving as the key point of contact for the other committees. It will also be your responsibility to ensure that the Committee's actions align with the organization's mission and strategic plan, as well as report highlights and key decisions from Committee meetings to the Chairman, Executive Committee, and Surus Account Manager. Digital Communications Manager - Oversees the creation, implementation, and evaluation of an organization's digital communication strategy, including website content, emailing, and texting. This includes developing, producing, and distributing content geared towards sharing updates, news, upcoming events and stories related to the organization’s mission to engage a growing audience. Required to create and send out a monthly organization-wide newsletter and text message.
Website + Social Media Manager - Responsible for developing and maintaining the organization's website and social media channels, ensuring they are up-to-date, user-friendly, and visually appealing. Should develop content that attracts and engages digital visitors and leads to more volunteers and active members of the organization. Required to post twice on social media each week.
Newsdesk Researcher - Researching voting records of elected officials that represent the territory, monitoring social media pages and websites of elected officials that represent the territory, reporting back to the Communications Committee on findings.*
Newsdesk Watchdog - Regularly attending civic meetings/public events held by officials that represent the territory, tracking discussions among elected bodies pertaining to issues the organization would choose to weigh in on, reporting back to the Communications Committee on happenings of governmental bodies and elected officials.*
Newsdesk Writer - Processing information from the Researcher and Watchdog on certain issues or policy areas, working with the the Comms Committee Chair to determine what sort of content/topics the organization should be weighing in on, drafting statements regularly and getting them approved by the org’s leadership, posting the statements to the organization’s “News” page on the website, submitting the statements via the Google Form.*
*Together, the Newsdesk team is responsible for developing four (4) statements each month.
Election Operations Committee
In order to improve the performance of Republicans in your geography, the organization must improve its focus on developing a Republican turnout machine, supporting campaigns ensuring the security of our elections. This includes recruiting candidates for local races and implementing a robust Precinct Committeeman program.
Election Operations Committee Roles
Committee Chair - Responsibilities include attending a weekly meeting with the Chairman, the Surus Illinois Account Manager, and other committee chairs. Additionally, you will facilitate monthly EOC meetings, preparing the agenda and running the meeting, while serving as the key point of contact for the other committees. It will also be your responsibility to ensure that the Committee's actions align with the organization's mission and strategic plan, as well as report highlights and key decisions from Committee meetings to the Chairman, Executive Committee, and Surus Account Manager. To ensure the Committee's effectiveness, you will evaluate its efforts monthly and annually, ensuring that its activities are consistent with the organization's mission, vision, and values, and that they help meet the organization's long and short-term goals.
Campaign Liaison - Responsible for serving as a representative of the organization, to build relationships with candidates and campaigns and promote the candidate's message to maximize voter engagement and support. Required to facilitate a quarterly Candidate Recruitment Workshop for potential candidates.
Precinct Committeeman Activity Director - Responsible for developing a precinct activities strategy and identifying full/empty precincts while developing a strategy to recruit PCs. Ensures that every precinct of the organization’s turf has an active and engaged precinct committeeman.
Precinct Committeeman Trainer - Train Precinct Committeemen on how to be a great Precinct Committeeman and train Precinct Committeemen on how to canvas using the Field Edge app. Required to host a Precinct Committeemen Training quarterly.
Community Engagement Committee
To expand the organization's reach and influence in the community, it is essential to engage with individuals who are not currently involved with the organization's work and often do not even consider themselves Republicans. This includes forming coalitions focused on specific policy issues or demographic groups and ensuring our party’s message is heard by more than just our supporters.
Community Engagement Committee Roles
Committee Chair - Responsibilities include attending a weekly meeting with the Chairman, the Surus Illinois Account Manager, and other committee chairs. Additionally, you will facilitate monthly Community Engagement meetings, preparing the agenda and running the meeting, while serving as the key point of contact for the other committees. It will also be your responsibility to ensure that the Committee's actions align with the organization's mission and strategic plan, as well as report highlights and key decisions from Committee meetings to the Chairman, Executive Committee, and Surus Account Manager. To ensure the Committee's effectiveness, you will evaluate its efforts monthly and annually, ensuring that its activities are consistent with the organization's mission, vision, and values, and that they help meet the organization's long and short-term goals.
Volunteer Coordinator - Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the volunteer program, from recruiting and onboarding volunteers with the goal of building a strong, engaged, and committed volunteer community that helps advance the organization’s mission. Facilitates a monthly volunteer appreciation event, logs 10 contacts to prospective volunteers each month, and facilitates the recruitment of volunteers for the organization when needed.
Coalitions Coordinator - Responsible for using the data surrounding the organization’s Victory Number to facilitate the development and management of strategic partnerships and collaborations between multiple organizations and individuals, to foster collective action, enhance advocacy efforts, and achieve long term goals that benefit the organization. Ensures to develop a coalition around a certain indicated by the issues affecting the organization’s territory and engage them in an in person event or meeting each quarter.
