Political Projection

By Ken Chumbley

When a government becomes ungovernable, when the mechanisms of justice are corrupted by injustice, it’s time the sleeping giant that is the American dream awaken to renew and reclaim itself.

Military and Political strategy are not all that different. General of the Army Douglas MacArthur once penned an article entitled “Requisites for Military Success,” in which he identified four crucial factors.

First, there must be morale, the will to win. Second, there must be strength, an army must be adequately trained and well-equipped. Third, there must be an adequate source of supply, lifelines must be kept open. Finally, there must be a knowledge of the enemy. The bulk of the article was devoted to this last consideration. “The greater the knowledge of the enemy,” wrote MacArthur, “the greater the potential for victory.” He then traced this principle from the battle of Jericho to Rommel’s defeat in North Africa.

This principle remains relevant. Never in my lifetime have the enemies of freedom posed a greater threat to my country. Totalitarian fifth columnists have infiltrated government at every level, as well as the media, tech, business, education, entertainment, medicine, etc. in an attempt to undermine American democracy. They’ve done it right under our noses, and in many instances, they’ve succeeded in duping us out of our liberties.

But a sleeping giant is awakening, and this realization has the left in a panic. According to Robert Lacey, the Romans attempted to colonize Britain ended when Rome realized that north of Hadrian’s Wall were fierce warriors who outnumbered the legions (Great Tales from English History, 19). The left is learning history repeats itself as philosophical descendants of the Founding Fathers democratically and legally join the fight for freedom in growing numbers. Our resolve is as great, if not greater, as that of those on the other side, and there are more of us than there are of them.

Let me get back to MacArthur. As he noted, an army’s chance of success increases in proportion to its knowledge of the enemy. When it comes to the left, such intelligence isn’t hard to find, because the left regularly tells us what they’re up to. Their preferred means of doing this is labeled projection, which, per the DSM, is a psychological mechanism wherein a person projects elements of his or her defective/dysfunctional psyche onto others.

Check the headlines, and you’ll see all sorts of examples. A short list includes the left accusing us of: colluding with foreign governments to alter the outcome of US elections; spreading misinformation; limiting free speech; being racist, bigoted, xenophobic, homophobic, angry, anti-science, pro-hate, anti-child; ad infinitum.

You’d think a football team that consistently reveals its playbook would be easy to beat. Defeating the left is never easy, but it will be easier if we pay attention to what they say. And it will be easier still when patriots in positions of authority hold Marxists and totalitarians responsible for their illegal, unconstitutional, and treasonous acts.

When a government becomes ungovernable, when the mechanisms of justice are corrupted by injustice, it’s time the sleeping giant that is the American dream awaken to renew and reclaim itself.
